Sweet Corn Days: People

I’m a few days late in continuing with Sweet Corn Days information. My excuse: I’m retired, at least theoretically, and work fairly slowly. (Dad often said, “Keith, how come the only time you can hurry is when you’re drivin’ something?”)

I thought I’d report in three different chapters: People, Places, and Events. We’ll see how that goes. Today, I’ll at least get a start on the People section.

Sweet Corn Days People

There’s probably not a more loyal group of people who attend Sweet Corn Days than the offspring of Maurice and Catherine Williams! They often plan one or more family reunions around this event. There are four siblings and they come from four different states, two of which are a long ways away from Lime Springs!

Maurice Jack Williams now lives in Tennessee. His sister Janet Milota lives in Gainsville, FL, while her twin sister, Jane Brammert, lives in Austin, TX. Marian Kay Hall lives in Wausau, WI.

This group, plus Bob Milota, are pictured above.

The late Pete Garrison was also one who remembered his home town with pride and a loyal attendee of Sweet Corn Days.

Pat and I embarked on something new this year: we had our two great-granddaughters stay with us for the first time! That was fun, to be sure. It might have cut down on my visiting with other attendees a bit.

Here’s a selfie of us enjoying a typical summer, kid-approved, lunch in the trailer.
