Sweet Corn Days, the 38th, are now history. The Lime Springs Community Club and many, many, hard-working volunteers worked hard to make Sweet Corn Days 2019 another community success.
Pat and I attended and parked our camper at our usual spot at Jim and Sheryll Smith’s RV Resort. They are great hosts!!
In case you’re not familiar with it, Lyle and Jay Ryon created Ladder No. 1 created several years ago at Ryon’s Garage in Lime Springs. Those two are creative! And skilled!
The brothers are great recyclers, as the engine is from a Crosley, if I remember correctly. In addition, the steering gear for the tiller (rear-end steering) is from a John Deere combine!
Their sister, Mary Stevenson, adeptly demonstrates its capabilities during Sweet Corn Day parades! With wider exposure, they could put the Shriners out of the parade business.
It took me a long time (two weeks) to create a video of the videos and pictures I took during the event. The finished product includes snippets from the videos and most of the pictures I snapped. The video editing program has a steep learning curve but I persevered. I also relied heavily on the trial-and-error method. Fortuantely, I finally finished it.
