LS People in the News

By kaw / 8 years ago

This article is a collection of items about a few people related to Lime Springs. People in the news, if you will.

Except they’ve probably not been in any news you’ve read, so aren’t you glad you have The Lime Springs Page!

Saturday Update:

Peter to Play Ball in Arizona

Jacob Peter, grandson of Marian and the late Lloyd Peter, will play baseball in the Arizona Fall League.

Jacob graduated from Creighton in Omaha, then played pro baseball in Montana before advancing to his current position in North Carolina.

In a few years, Lime Springs might be able to boast that it has a great connection with a major baseball player!

Here’s an article about the AFL and Jacob.

Earl Walker Receives Transplant

A couple of weeks ago, Earl Walker received a new-to-him kidney, transplanted from his daughter. The surgery was performed in Madison, WI.

This should end the at-home kidney dialysis he’s been undergoing for the last several months.

New Hip for Keith

Before

The news here at the Williams house is that I have a new right hip! The good folks up at Mayo Clinic did the installation August 25. After two nights in the hospital, I was home to recover.

After

Today I felt, by far, the best since the surgery. I actually feel good enough to write an article!

Grandma D (Denise) was not there. These little gals have three grandmas, but only one grandpa. I have a heavy responsibility!

Bill Hall Hospitalized

This from facebook: William (Bill) Hall was hospitalized a week or more ago. Bill’s wife is the former Marian Kay Williams. The Hall’s live in Wausau, WI.

Jim Kitchen Running

When one says that Jim is “running,” it doesn’t give much information. Jim is always running! Running to something, running from something, running for something, etc.

In this case, he’s running for another term on the How-Winn School Board.

Being on the Board is a tough job, as there are decisions which must be made but which are painful to make.

From my conversations with Jim, I know that he enjoys the job and working with all the people of the District. I also know that he truly wants to do what is best for the students and the District as a whole.
