Lime Springs Community Club Installs Electronic Sign

Photo of new electronic sign board in Lime Springs, Iowa, USA.

A new sign has been installed on the Banks Barber Shop or Corner Cafe corner. The sign was operating during Sweet Corn Days.

It will be great for informing passers-by of upcoming events in Lime Springs, the schools, or the area.

The structure will be faced with limestone, appropriate for this area! That hasn’t been completed yet.

In this picture, Pat is standing by the sign so you can get an idea of its size.

This is another indication that the city management and the Lime Springs Community Club are aware of the potential for the city and are taking positive steps to make it a better place for all citizens.

Response to Pam’s comment (see below):

Leonard Banks did have a barber shop on the corner, before it was a cafe. It was sort of comical, as Earl McMaster, barber, could look across the street and see who was coming/going from his competitors business. He kept close track of Banks’ customers!

I only recall those two businesses in that location: barbershop and cafe, operated first, I believe, by the Jonses and later by several others.
