Ad Income Up This Month

Ad Income

In another post, I mentioned that I derive ad income from ads placed on The Lime Springs Page.

Here’s the basic idea: in effect, I rent space on this page to Google. They place ads in locations I define. When a reader clicks on one of the ads, I get paid. It’s that simple.

Currently, the Google ads are the one above the Weather Underground block and the one just below the Amazon ad, all on the right side.

Amazon Ads

In addition to the Google ads, I run ads from amazon.com. They work a bit differently. If you click on an Amazon ad, you’ll be taken to amazon.com. I get nothing if you just click and go to their site.

But if you buy something from amazon.com, I get an “advertising fee!”

A Slow Way to Make Money

These ads do pay, but ad income comes slowly. It takes about 3 1/2 years for me to make $100 from the Google ads. Why so slow? Probably because I do not have huge numbers of visitors to this site each day, and those loyal visitors who do come visit over and over. (And I do appreciate that!)

People who make good money in this manner have hundreds, if not thousands, of visitors each day. This site isn’t that popular. Yet! If a thousand people visited this site each day, ad income would be up because it is highly likely that a few people would click an ad almost every day.

And the Amazon ads haven’t paid much because not many have purchased through ads on this page.

This Month

This month was a great month, relatively speaking, for the Google ads. Income is more than ten times what it was last month. This month’s “income from clicks” is in the few dollars category; last month it was in the few dimes category.

A large contributor to that was from clicks delivered by The Lime Springs Page! Many clicks pay less than a nickel; some pay more than a dollar, and even more than two dollars! Some reader clicked on one of those good ones! (And that I really appreciate!) That really helped the ad income in April!

May 1 update: April was the second-highest month since ads by Google have been placed on my sites, which is about 6 years.

My Wish for Amazon

I believe amazon.com is a good place to shop. Price, selection, and convenience are among the reasons.

I know many of you buy, either regularly or occasionally, from this huge retailer. If you would go to their site from an ad on this site before you purchase, there might be an article like this about my big check from Amazon!
