Did you see this photo circulating around Facebook recently? I laughed out loud when I saw this photo because of a conversation Mom (Ada Austin) and I had regarding the moon.
I happened to be pet sitting here in Virginia. I was driving to the farm that the dog was at. The moon was so big and full and it appeared to be touching the horizon. It was spectacular.
Anyway, I call Mom and say, “Mom! Have you looked outside at the moon? It’s amazing! blah blah blah”
Her reply was so her, yet so unexpected, that I just can’t forget it. Every time I see a truly spectacular moon I have to laugh. Her reply? “Tori, it’s the same moon here that you have there!”
I tried to laugh it off and said, “Yes! but have you seen it tonight? It’s gorgeous. Please stop what you are doing and go out and see it!!!!”
Once more she said, “I’m tellin’ ya, it’s the same moon here that you’ve got there.” We said our goodbye’s and hang up.
Not seconds later my phone rings and it’s the gentleman I’m pet sitting for and he says, “Tori! Have you seen the moon tonight?!!!”
