Where ya been, Keith?

Good question, as it is clear I haven’t been posting on The Lime Springs Page.

But I do have a good answer!

Pat and I spent two+ weeks in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota! Actually, a few of those days were spent in the Black Hills of Wyoming. The Hills extend a short distance into Wyoming. We have friends, Fran and Sandy, from Rockport 35 RV Park, where we have wintered the past seven years, who have a home near Newcastle, WY. They invited us to visit them and we took them up on it!

The picture above is of Red Butte, just a few miles from Fran and Sandy’s home.

They have nearly 60 acres about ten miles from Newcastle. Clearly, it is “out in the boonies” with no right-on-top-of-you neighbors and beautiful trees, ridges, and valleys. We enjoyed their company and their scenery.

On the way out, of course we stopped at Wall Drug for lunch. That’s a requirement as far as we are concerned. We even took friends from Oregon there several days later, at the end of our tour of Badlands National Park.

The main reason for our going at this particular time was to attend a rally of Hitchhiker trailers. About 7 years ago, I helped a couple of other fellows start a forum for owners of NuWa brand trailers. Now, that forum has over 4200 members! About 40 trailers-worth of people were at the gathering near Custer.

We greatly enjoyed the peace, quiet, and beauty of the Hills, our favorite place. I’ll post more pictures as time goes on.

We also really enjoyed just doing nothing! I felt like I needed a vacation and this certainly filled the bill.

Note: If you click on the photos, they’ll be enlarged a bit.
