Weekly Activity Report

It’s high time I publish another article here on The Lime Springs Page. Why not publish a Weekly Activity Report? That’ll provide a reason to include a little bit about several subjects. The down side: It reminds me of an unpleasant task I sometimes had back when I had a J-O-B.

A Record Breaking Week

The temperature here in Mission reached 100* one day. Yesterday, it was 101* here. Those were certainly records for this trailer and I believe for the area. Today it was in the 70s; much more comfortable.

Hearing From Friends

Few things warm my heart more than hearing from old friends. This was a good week! I received emails from Gary Thomas and Lowell Lindsay, both classmates of mine at LSHS and friends since.

Gary Thomas

Gary has just moved into the computer world and is spreading his email wings. Thankfully his email messages are pure Gary! There’s no doubt that they were written by the authentic Gary; no imposter there.

Lowell left LS when we were Freshmen, I believe. I’d had no contact with him until a year or two ago when we had lunch in Minneapolis. The other day an email came from him! (That reminds me, I’ve not yet answered it!) We need to plan another lunch!

I was also favored with a note from Donna Ihns, informing me of the passing of not one but two Lime Springers, Mary Jones and Jack Robinson.

Dancing!

The park’s last dance of the season was last night. We thought we’d go, just to see what a dance at our park was like. We actually danced a couple of dances! Next year, we’ll go to more than one!

Business

As some know, I’ve been an AMSOIL Dealer for over thirty years. (AMSOIL, Inc., is a manufacturer of synthetic lubricants located in Superior, WI. If you want some in Lime Springs, see Earl and Betty Walker!)

I made a few calls and registered the Honda motorcycle dealer in McAllen as an AMSOIL Retail Account!

And someone placed an order with amazon.com via this or another of my sites! That, I really appreciated!

Websites

I discovered that some hacker had placed a few of his pages on at least two of my websites!  There’s a lot of folks out there who don’t have enough to do!! I don’t believe any damage was done.

Our Last Week Here

One week from tomorrow, we’ll fill up the fuel tanks and head toward Cedar Rapids. With luck, we’ll visit a few friends along the way.

We’re really hoping the snow in northern Missouri will have melted by they time we get there, which will be Friday afternoon if all goes according to plan.

We’ll probably arrive home Saturday, April 6, after a full four months here at Hidden Valley Ranch in Mission, Texas. We’ve enjoyed it to the extent that we expect to be back at the same spot next year! (The oranges on the neighbors lot are just toooo good to miss!)

While we’ve missed the friends we made during our seven winters in Rockport, TX, we did enjoy ourselves here. We attended lots of musical events, including several polka jam sessions! But there’s more than polkas: barbershop concert, band concerts, folklorico and mariachi concert, and Branson-style entertainment!

And just this past week, I found a place to play low-stakes Texas Hold ’em! Just in time; I’ll be able to play two times before we leave.

And that’s the weekly activity report for this week from Lake Woebegone Waaaaay South!
