Kenneth Jones
A memorial service will be held for Kenneth T. Jones Friday, July 8, at 11:00 AM at the Lime Springs Community Center. Lunch and conversation will follow.
The date marks the 97th anniversary of Kenneth’s birth!
Kenneth died last October. He had been the oldest man in Lime Springs for some time. (Another “Kenny,” Kenny Mensink, now holds that title.)

Bernard “Bernie” Roesler
Bernard Roesler passed away Monday, June 27. His funeral is held Thursday, July 7, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lime Springs.
Bernard has been a resident of our town for nearly all of his 86 years. He and his wife, Betty, frequently volunteered for tasks which needed to be done. For several years, they created thoughtful floats for the Sweet Corn Days parade. Their entries usually involved a local cause or situation and involved both Bernard and Betty.
Many believe that Bernard’s voice sounds very similar to that of Santa Clause. It’s been a long time since I sat on Santa’s lap, so I wouldn’t know. To me, Santa’s voice and that of Bill Thomas were identical!
The community has lost a great volunteer!

Note: I did publish a similar article shortly after Bernard’s death. Unfortunately, that article
and at least two others disappeared from The Lime Springs Page last weekend.
