Soup Kit: Generic Soup

Photo of vegetables for making soup ---a soup kit!

No, not a soup kitchen ---a soup kit!

I'd never seen such a thing before, but there they were ---in the produce section at Walmart. It's a package of about half-a-dozen different vegetables suitable for vegetable soup.

I guess all you do is cut 'em up, add water, cook, and enjoy.

Enhanced Soup

Pat said you can also add broth and meat, either chunks of stewing meat or hamburger. I'm not sure whether she'll make the generic version or the enhanced version.

That'll have to wait for a later report.

User Review!

Pat used the "soup kit" to prepare tonight's supper.

She used only a tiny portion of the jalapeno pepper. So small a portion that we couldn't taste it, actually. She added a healthy, if I may use that word, portion of stew meat.

And it was good!

The kit included one lime. The intent was to squeeze the lime juice into the soup after it was served. But this lime was a dud! Squeeze as we may, we could not get even one drop of juice from it.

I still don't know what lime juice does for the taste of soup. Guess that means I still have one adventure to which I can look forward.
