Our favorite BBQ restaurant is Rudy’s, a chain operating a few dozen restaurants in Texas and other south-western states.
They’re located on the Pharr side of McAllen, which means that it’s nearly a 20-mile drive for us. (That makes a great pun, but isn’t quite true. I believe it is actually located in the city of Pharr, which touches McAllen’s eastern border.)
I’ve written about Rudy’s before, telling how safe we felt while eating there. The place is a favorite hangout of law enforcement officers of all stripes! One time, we were “protected” by about two dozen armed officers! We really felt safe that day!
The real reason I’m posting this article is to see how the email notification system works. I got an indication today that many of you subscribers did not receive notification of the new article posted. I called my sister and she confirmed that she did, in fact, receive her email. So now I’m really puzzled! Again!
