The FFA chapter at Crestwood High School plans to invest $20,000 in Lime Springs Beef!
The chapter had about $90,000 in its coffers since it sold some land about a dozen years ago. The school board recently granted permission to make this investment.
The Superintendent felt this would be an excellent way for the future farmers to connect with the real world. He even envisioned them participating at the board of directors level.
There are very few courses in high schools or even colleges which teach students entrepreneurship or even how to make or save money. This investment could spark interest in such matters.
It could even make the Crestwood FFA chapter the most wealthy chapter in the state!
I sure hope that is the case!
