In Texas for the Winter

By kaw / 12 years ago

We’re now pretty well settled in at our new spot in Mission, TX.

After seven years on the same lot in Rockport, TX, we decided that we’d take advantage of the mobility of an RV and choose a different location. Our very first retirement winter was spent here in Mission but at a different park.

Now we are at a park in which all the lots are owned by individuals, so we are renting a lot from its owner—who just so happens to be from Cedar Rapids and a Rockwell Collins retiree. Ths park is actually west of the western border of Mission, for those of you familiar with the area.

We’ve been here a bit over 48 hours and have been granted access to a grapefruit tree and orange tree of our neighbor, shown here, and to a loaded tangerine tree behind our lot. And that’s in addition to the oranges and grapefruit supplied by our landlord!

See why we like Texas?
