Harriett VanderBie Paine Dies at 93

Another noted educator produced by Lime Springs has passed away: Harriett VanderBie Paine.

Her father and brother had the VanderBie’s Hardware store on the corner for decades. The location is now VanderBie Park, thanks to Ann VanderBie Stevenson. The picture is of that attractive park.

Harriett had left Lime Springs before I knew many people in Lime Springs and before I went to school in Lime Springs. I did meet her and work with her during the 1993 LSHS Reunion.

As you can read in the obituary, Harriett was a noted educator in California and was recognized for her efforts.
