More Changes

By kaw / 9 years ago

Several months ago I updated the look of The Lime Springs Page by making numerous changes. That’s when I added the picture of “the brick house” or “Leader Dick’s house” to the front page.

It might have looked nice, but it wasn’t doing quite what I had in mind. Tonight, I’ve made more changes. It doesn’t look quite as nice, I’m afraid. However, it does act more like I want it to.

I’m using what they call a “magazine format” now. You, the reader, are supposed to be able to browse through the site more-or-less as you would through your favorite magazine.

Oh, there are still some rough edges, to be sure. But the “action” is there. From the front page or the blog page, you can see lots of articles. To read any one of them, just click on it and you’ll be whisked away to the full text of the article.

About Those Ads

Below each article (the program calls articles “posts” so if you see that term, you’ll know what I mean) there is often an ad. You should know that if you click on that ad, I’ll get paid. How much? It depends. Often, it’s a penny or two. Recently, several have paid 40-some cents. Once or twice, a click paid nearly $6! Those are very welcome but also very few and far between.

Google tries to put ads on your page that it thinks will be of interest to you. I have very little control over what ads actually appear when you read an article in The Lime Springs Page.

More Articles and Comments

After the ad, if there is one, there are teasers for other articles. If you’ve missed one, here’s your chance to read it! Again, just click on it to read it.

Next, there’s a box into which you can write a comment. I wish you would write comments!!! Many of you write comments on Facebook; you can be just as vocal on The Lime Springs Page!

As you scroll even further down, you’ll see bits of most of the articles which have appeared on The Lime Springs Page.

You’ll Like the Changes, Right???

I’ll try to make improvements as we go along. These changes, just like the changes when your favorite grocery store moves things around, might not be viewed as “improvements” instantly. I hope you’ll get used to the changes quickly and agree that this site is easier to use than it was before the changes.

Of course, I’d greatly appreciate your comments on the new look and feel of The Lime Springs Page.
