Beautiful Iowa! It’s very seldom that the scene out the window motivates me to grab my camera and snap a picture while I’m flying. However, two weeks ago the beauty of Iowa was so great that I had no choice. I took my cellphone, which is the best camera I own, and took these pictures.
We were flying along in a Cessna 172 about 1,500 feet above the ground. We were a few miles SW of Iowa City, possibly not far east of Kalona.
The fluffy clouds and their shadows on the green fields were beautiful! The air was smooth and my student was doing the flying. In fact, he was doing a very good job of flying! (Two students from Rockwell Collins, my former employer, were with me. Both flew very well considering they had less than ten hours of instruction in a real airplane!)
