This month’s issue of Sport Aviation, the EAA magazine, has a brief article of another Pietenpol airplane taking to the air.
This airplane was designed over 75 years ago, so it’s older than the Piper Cub J-3! And it’s still being built! It was designed by the late Bernard Pietenpol of Cherry Grove.
The one mentioned in the magazine had a gestation period of 42 years! Construction was started in 1969!
The proud owner and pilot is 86 and lives in New Jersey.
