Saturday we attended Corey Smith’s Celebration of Life, held at the Fish and Game Club, just outside Lime Springs. It was a beautiful afternoon and a beautiful setting, especially for someone who loved hunting and fishing and the outdoors as did Corey.
A large crowd attended. Because I’ve been away from Lime Spring
s for over 50 years, I knew hardly any of the other attendees.
Corey was the son of Jim and Sheryll (Bowers) Smith. He grew up in Lime Springs, where his parents owned and operated the lumber yard for decades. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a skilled carpenter. Both Smiths also love the outdoors and hunting.
Corey’s Celebration of Life Folder
The folder was one of the most appropriate ones I’ve ever seen! It had a great background picture on it and the colors were Harley Davidson orange and black —both very appropriate touches for Corey. Because of this uniqueness, I’m publishing it here for you to see and reflect on Corey and his family.
Here’s a blow-up of the insert on the front cover. Good advice if you’re a carpenter!
Below is the text of the folder. If you, like me, did not know Corey this write-up will give you insight as to why he will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
