Due to excessive use already, new regulations, and generally the fact that the LS sewer system does not meet current code, getting ride of waste from the slaughter plant via the sewer system is not an option.
Back to the drawing board.
Can you imagine all the details necessary to open a brand new packing plant from scratch? It’s a huge job! But Jesse Stevens hopes to have enough of them nailed down so construction can begin yet this year, before the weather gets too bad.
He said it would have 25 jobs as soon as it opened. Those folks have to be hired and trained.
The sewer issue was already mentioned. But there should be a paved road to the facility, too. More details.
The facility will be located east of the Travel Plaza. It will be a welcome addition to the economics of Lime Springs and the area.
Jesse is to be commended for his vision and all the hard work he’s expended for the new company. We hope it is successful beyond his fondest dreams!
