Bits and Pieces #1
What’s Bits and Pieces? Rather than create a series of short pieces on various topics, I thought I’d try this approach: create an article with a “generic” title, then put several little topics in that article. We’ll see how it works. You’ll be the judge!
In other words, it’s a vehicle in which I can ramble!
Now I need to come up with a logo or picture to illustrate “Bits and Pieces.” Ideas, anyone??
Languages
Ever wonder what the Welsh language looked like when written? Or Chinese? Or perhaps Finnish? But not Egyption; it’s not listed.
I found a most unlikely place to check out what dozens of languages look like: the website of Hindt-Houdek Funeral Homes! Just go to their site, look down to left column to the little box which says “Select Language,” make your selection, and be amazed!
This might be something interesting to show your grandkids sometime!
I’d like to know how good the translation is, so if you can test one out, please let me know what you found!
Bad Week: Computers
Pat’s laptop failed late last week. It’s still failed. —but not because no time has been spent trying to remedy the problem!
Then in mid-week her several-month-old Samsung tablet locked up! I took that to the Samsung table within Best Buy. After a couple of hours the Samsung guru reset it to “factory new.” In other words, all of her data was gone but it worked!
The good news is that she had very little actual data on it, as she doesn’t use it for email.
More good news: now I know how to reset it!
You do backup the data on your computers, don’t you?
Bad Week: Appointments
I’m working our AMSOIL business fairly consistently down here in Texas. At this time last week, I was quite excited as I had three appointments lined up for Monday!
The first one, at 10 AM, simply didn’t show up and didn’t answer his phone. Disappointing, to say the least.
The second one, whom I felt was finally ready to enter an order, declined. Again.
The third one wasn’t at work that day.
I did, however, call on a potential new retail outlet, a motorcycle shop. I had a very interesting conversation with Frank! He asked me some great questions, questions which no one has ever asked me about the business before. I hope to meet with him this week to finalize a deal.
This Week
Monday morning, I have an appointment with my newest AMSOIL account, down in Donna. I’m optimistic!
And at 1 PM, we’re joining several from our park on a two-hour cruise on the Rio Grand! It looks like the weather will be less than ideal but it should be interesting.
That takes care of this week’s Bits and Pieces.
