The guesses are pouting in! (Well, not really. Zero guesses so far, actually. Very disappointing.)

And a hint: I believe there were two of these in or around Lime Springs—maybe even more. The other one served the same purpose, but might have been constructed differently.
There’s also a device which provides the same function in Cherry Grove! It is definitely of different design, construction, and manufacturer.
My guess is that this device is 75 to 100 years old, but appears to still be in good shape. Clearly, it was built to last! And it did.
Today, manufacturers feel that they “can’t afford to build it that way.”
I like stuff that lasts! Forever!
