Getting Behind

You’d think a retired guy would have plenty of time to keep his website filled with current news, wouldn’t you? For some reason, I just can’t seem to keep up to date on that. I just keep getting behind. Possibly because I’m not “fully” retired.

I do some flight instructing, although not much. I only flew three days during July. For a time, I had two fellows originally from China, whom I enjoyed greatly. One was 6′ 4″ —rather unusual for a Chinese!!!

I also have my AMSOIL business. Last year was a good year for us. Pat and I were promoted to Direct Jobber status because of the sales our entire group made. I’m trying to make it continue to grow. It doesn’t grow all by itself, that’s for sure. Like any business, it takes a lot of work! Oh, not “heavy lifting” so much. The work is “easy” but it does take time!

Earl and Betty Walker are part of the reason our business grew over the years. They are good Dealers for AMSOIL! Earl doesn’t turn wrenches any more but probably still has some product stashed away.

Another reason I keep getting behind is I’m slow! And I probably over-think what I do. All that slows real progress down. Perhaps I should adopt the adage Donna mentioned once: “Do you want it perfect or do you want it tomorrow?”

Articles on which I’m getting behind

Right now, a couple of the subjects on which I’m getting behind are our visit to The Great Jones County Fair, Mable Price Hunnicut’s passing, and, of course, Sweet Corn Days.

Today was taken up largely by getting ready to leave for Lime Springs tomorrow. We’ll be at the Jim and Sheryll Smith RV Park and Resort from Tuesday afternoon until at least Sunday. Stop by and chat!

Oh, the clouds? They have absolutely nothing to do with info in this article. I like to have a picture with each article, or at least a picture with one article each day, so that when you get the email announcing the article it will look a bit nicer. This were beautiful and interesting clouds last night so chose them to show. Where else would I show them?
