Lime Springs’ celebration of the year is coming this week! It’s Sweet Corn Days, of course!
It’ll be a great time to chat with friends you might not have seen for months or years. And to have some good eats —like free sweet corn!
There’ll be lots of music. Good music! I’m not familiar with the Saturday night street dance band, Next 2 Nothing, but if they’re clever enough to come up with a name like that they’re probably clever enough to play good music!
The group which excites me is CrossStrung! They’ll be leading the Sunday morning ecumenical church service. You can expect a lot of the gospel songs you’ve been singing for decades at that performance.
I learned today that they will be also be performing on Main Street at 3 PM Saturday! That’s great news for area music lovers, to be sure! I’m sure this show will give them a chance to present a wide variety of songs. They do bluegrass, and do it well! they love Celtic. They have both talent and energy so we can expect a vigorous and entertaining show!
Pat and I’ll arrive in Lime Springs Tuesday afternoon. We have some visits and appointments in the area so won’t be in town every minute but will be there long enough to enjoy old and new friends whom we run into or who stop by. (We’ll be at Jim and Sheryll Smith’s RV park.)
