Minnesota Trip Successful

Photo of Lift Bridge in Duluth, MN, seen during Minnesota visit.

Last week, we were drawn to Duluth, MN, by the AMSOIL Direct Jobbers Convention. The view above is of that city’s iconic lift bridge, taken from our hotel window.

The convention was interesting and enlightening. But more important were the visits with five sets of friends or relatives we enjoyed while either coming or going.

Terry & Kathie Hoopman, Sturegeon Lake, MNWe started with a short stop to see my cousin, Terry Hoopman and Kathie. They have a great spot near Sturgeon Lake. It’s peaceful and a great place for lovers of music and books, which they are, to hang out.

IMG_7298We ended visits in Owatonna, with granddaughter Steph and Mark, plus the Park Princesses, Molly and Leah. It was great to see them! Because we live 211 miles from them, we don’t get to see them often enough.

In between, we visited Gary and Mary Goetsch, my old ham radio friend from HS days and now neighbor in the Texas park at which we’ve no stayed three years, thanks to Gary, actually! (Sorry, no picture.)

IMG_7297And about three miles from Gary, also in Farmington, lives Pat’s sister, Jo, and her son, Ron. It was good to see them!

And we visited my sister, Harlene, in Mankato. We also got to visit with her daughter, Kris, and her son, Zander, 7.  Why no pictures?? Dunno.
